when i was a kid, around lower primary school i think. i fell down and knocked half of my then growing front teeth down. it was a life changing moment, i didnt know then. after which, i went to school a few days refusing to smile or talk. till one day, i went to the dentist in school and they helped me remolded the teeth, filling up the gap. it was a long process i remember, because i even skipped class and spent the whole of recess doing it. and then i was happy again.
at least for a while. until my teeth started to grow and started to jut out. i forgot when did it start, but i used to smile without my teeth. it looked way too awkward and didnt look like a real smile. then i gradually mastered smiling without showing my teeth. but still, it didnt look as jolly as when i started smiling showing my teeth recently. and there are still cases i look way too awkward.
more than once i had the chance to do braces, but i declined. because when i was a kid, i believed that those who really love me will also love my flaw, i.e my teeth. i used to think it was unique, i still think so in fact. coupled with the pain i had to endure and the food i had to sacrificed, it was enough reasons for me to reject the idea altogether. crooked teeth, that i could deal with.
but well, when i grow up. society seems to taught me otherwise. or maybe vanity ate me up. so i finally stop resisting to the idea and gave in to braces too. strangely, nobody really stopped me too. so here's a big hello to brace-face and metal mouth me! and goodbye to all my favorite food, at least for a while ):
