"Where would you find your triumphs and minor setback? The personal confirmations that provide nourishment for the soul?" -The Last Good Man by A.J. Kazinski

Start of something new

maybe in some way i am lucky, i didn't have to go through the long period of job hunting, of worrying and facing so much uncertainty of my future. Instead, i got a long holiday which i could enjoy thoroughly with a deadline ahead. Onwards to the next phase of life tmr, still can't fully grasp that idea of me being a working adult. As always, i hope it will be a great experience, onwards to more exciting times in life. Cheers!

Final Graduation Trip

I'm finally back to Singapore for good, no more flights for a while now. Hong Kong was never a city that i love to visit again even though i had only went there for a day trip 5 years ago. Still not loving it after 7 days there but it was definitely not a bad trip. Hong Kong is like Singapore, crowded, fast paced and the people are thus definitely not a friendly bunch. Despite the lousy weather, it was raining everyday when we were there, I really enjoyed spending time with the core group, hanging out 24/7 with them for 7 days. From the mad rush to finish Ocean Park right from the very first day, the relentless food hunt and hello kitty hunt daily, the dim sum snatching and squeezy yum cha experience with the locals on Day 3, the mandatory photo taking with every MTR stations we were at, the graduation shots at Macau's Ruins of St Pauls, then running through Macau Venetian Casino to catch our ferry, the random games of Heads Up charades by the Hong Kong night scene at Sta...

i'm back! for the time being...

Just submitted my insurance claim and categorized my photos from the Europe trip. 2640 photos in 38 days, that was actually below what I expected, probably because quite a number of the photos were in the iPhone that was stolen in Berlin. Besides that particular incident, I would say that it was a really really great trip. Definitely a worthy decision made! Now i can proudly say i've backpacked in Europe! But that only makes me want to see the world even more, after meeting so many people from so many interesting places. Next stop may be Morroco, Greece, Brazil or a trip in South America maybe? We were two girls backpacking our way through 10 cities with minimal planning, Paris-London-Amsterdam-Berlin-Prague-Firenze(Florence)-Rome-Sevilla-Granada-Barcelona, so i really need to thank my lucky star and my travel buddy Roxanne for all the good weather, good events/festivals luck, good timings and all the good people we met and the friends we have made on this trip. Now i'm home wi...

#yolo

As I'm laying on my bed now, I try my best to not think about my trip tomorrow for fear that I may start panicking. Now that I think about it, I must have been crazy to book an air ticket to Europe two weeks before the flight. 5 weeks in Europe and less than 2 weeks of planning! What was I thinking? And we are only two girls. I didnt even thought about going to Europe after I came back from exchange since I was immensely broke. Well, but I have to say somewhere along the way someone planted that thought in my head. Even though I kept throwing it away and telling myself it's impossible, signs keep popping out and gave me the hope again. And indeed, somehow things that are bad started clicking together and turned for the better. It is like the universe wanted me to go. As always it's the pre trip jittery and I as usual is not prepared at all even under prepared this time. I always start off a trip with uncertainty and come back full of memories. Wish me luck this time round a...

a muddled head and droopy eyes

This is probably one of the last few mugging sessions of my life. Strangely enough, i remember there was this reading period that i actually like mugging. Everyday was like a safe routine ritual, i go to school, i complete what i am supposed to do that day, i go home and can watch shows for the whole night. But now, i can't find back that feeling anymore. Perhaps it's the lack of urgency during exchange life or perhaps it's the final semester syndrome, i seem to lack the stamina to study efficiently now. And just yesterday, I was having trouble sleeping. My body clock is so screwed, by the way. Did you ever realise that people get a lot crazier when they are mugging day in and out? Perhaps due to constant cramming of content and stress, weird thoughts and crazy ideas tend to form in our heads. And so... I shall try not to entertain these thoughts in my mind.

treasure these random moments

this is today, after the last quiz (AA306) ever in my uni life. we took the car out and went for lunch, just like in year 1. times with them are almost always good, i like how everybody become more relaxed and fun because it's the last semester. Like when we are in year 1 where actions are before "but..." and we end up having funny and spontaneous moments. Ain't life supposed to be like that?

Graduation Goggles

It is officially the last week of school for this semester. And it is the last week of school for my university life or even ever. Perhaps it's the graduation goggles doing its job or perhaps this feeling is just real. This feeling of constant waves of nostalgia, of memories resurfacing, of  this reluctance at the thought of leaving. It is almost the end of my university journey and all i could think of is the things i could have, should have or did not do. I feel like going back in time. But to do this all over again, will i then still end up in this same place?

the last of the yearly affair

this pretty much sums up this post. However, this year Jurong Bird Park did not participate so we have to change our location to the Dempsey's branch. This year, most of us didnt have class but that only means that it's harder for us to meet up and go together. But everyone did make the effort to come down considering it's probably the last one for us. Well, Free Cone Day 2013 was enjoyable as always, what's not happy with free ice cream. It did rained heavily for a moment which almost dampen our spirit. Almost is the keyword here. This year's flavours are great so i ate 6 cones! While, Becky managed to successfully challenge 10 cones. We ended up camping on the back of Ersy's car, having a slight resemblance of a car boot flea sale. At the end of the day, free cone day 2013 is not just the ice cream but the people too. I'm glad that we started that this in our first year. To Friendships and Ice Creams :D

On hindsight

Up till today, i guess the best decision i made this year is to return to salsa en sync and perform for JDC'13. I guess it wasn't that tough a decision make in the first place. My heart always wanted a last chance to perform a salsa piece on stage to end my final year nicely and i guess all i needed was a push. I am grateful to the people who welcomed me back so willingly and readily. It was a pleasure to be able to have the opportunity to know these bunch of enthusiastic juniors and to dance with them. Trust me when i say i will miss dancing and progressing with them next year. Maybe even a tad envious. It was such a great last performing experience to be able to dance on the stage of Kallang Theatres especially with such a responsive and supporting crowd.  I woke up today still feeling the excitement from yesterday's performance. It was in fact one of the best crowd for the JDC ever, they cheered, they oohed and aahed at all the correct places and they didn't leave ...
