this summer

is coming to an end. ):

for the first time this summer,
i didn't work a full time job.
i taught little kids baking, felt almost like a part time maid.
i went to a mini supper road trip in singapore.
i got really bad results.
i went to krabi, kind of last minute, and only with a backpack.
i snorkeled in the turquoise sea, even though i didnt know how to swim.
i went to yet another new country i've never been.
i've made new foreign friends.
i plucked out three perfectly good teeth of mine at a dentist.
i did root canal treatment.
i became a brace face.
i stepped into the big 2 for the age column.
i had a family war fare.
i went to the toy museum for the first time, being led by the curator.
i ordered beer for myself, but still disliked it.
i overcame my fear (partially) and acted as a ghost.
i pulled of my own planned event, somewhat successfully.
i was a programmer!
so glad for all these first tries, and i should also really utter a thank you to simple pleasures in life. plus to the lovely people i have and i met.

this summer, i started out with lots of ideas but i didn't follow through. so they still remained as ideas.
i never did pick up a new skill, particularly learning guitar.
i never did change my mum's unhealthy lifestyle.
i never did improved my brother's academic results.
i never did save enough money.
i never did exercise and lead a healthier lifestyle.
i never did go for a health checkup.
i never did tidy up my house.
i never did pack up my stuff.
i never did organise my pictures and develop them.
and these are things i wanted to do for ages but never did. i thought i would but still i didn't.

now that summer's over and school is reopening. i need to organise my thoughts and start focusing again. goodbye, my first and possible last free summer holiday. it'd been relatively great, living the leisure lifestyle. and you realise even if you don't try to outdid yourself and perform your ideas, life still goes on and summer still passes in a whoosh. i hope next two summers will be even better. hello to school days! year two and now i'm a senior D:

Late night thoughts

Sometimes as we rush to move forward, day by day passed and we forget to stop and take a look, to reflect and to feel. All in the name of Busy. I would say that this Friday's sickness came just at the right time as I forced myself to take a much needed break. A full 10 hours of sleep in a while now, having some me time albeit just to lay around in bed the whole day to watch shows. Catching up on conversations with friends I didn't realized I miss so dearly and reminiscing about good old times. It has been merely 5 months odd. Yet, when we talked about school, it feels like another lifetime away. Sometimes I hope that just for even one day, we can go back in time, walk in the corridors and stop to say hi to familiar faces. It's these little things I miss about school. Mostly the once familiar environment and the freedom.  That's not to say that work is a dreadful task. It's just that Work is like an all consuming entity that creeps up in your mind, occupy your life i...

As I'm laying on my bed now, I try my best to not think about my trip tomorrow for fear that I may start panicking. Now that I think about it, I must have been crazy to book an air ticket to Europe two weeks before the flight. 5 weeks in Europe and less than 2 weeks of planning! What was I thinking? And we are only two girls. I didnt even thought about going to Europe after I came back from exchange since I was immensely broke. Well, but I have to say somewhere along the way someone planted that thought in my head. Even though I kept throwing it away and telling myself it's impossible, signs keep popping out and gave me the hope again. And indeed, somehow things that are bad started clicking together and turned for the better. It is like the universe wanted me to go. As always it's the pre trip jittery and I as usual is not prepared at all even under prepared this time. I always start off a trip with uncertainty and come back full of memories. Wish me luck this time round a...
