goodness, can you believe i slept all the way through valentine's day & probably most of today?
orientation is a whole load of thoughts and a whole big blur in my head.
contradicting, i know but there were so many thoughts and things-to-do in my head at every moment that now i cant remember everything well.
so indeed this is the last camp i will ever attend as a leader in jj.
i didnt ever for a minute regret joining this orientation even when things got really tough.
honestly this camp is tough to me.
with the serious lack of manpower, it is really literally one ogl to per group in our family while the other is attache.
there was nobody to rely to in my og but myself.
but we really pull through and i really felt the support in our family.
the first day was seriously tough, it was when i felt that i wasnt good enough as an ogl and i felt like crying out loud at several moments.
og19 was quite a divided bunch at first coz there were some who just came from china who cant really speak english and also malay who cant understand chinese so it was hard to communicate with them in one language and make them understand each other.
out of 19 in the og, 15 was guys and they werent easy to control.
i felt like a failure the whole first day till i couldnt hold in it anymore and cried like shit during the song singing session.
i think i sort of scared my og when they saw me cried.
they cooperated with me much better after that.
the second day i felt like a failure again.
the truth is i have no inkling how exactly to bond one group together, it just happens.
it was mr leow's words that occured to me that i wasnt trying my best yet.
so i let it all out and cheered with the og until i was hoarse.
i was really touched they supported and cheered with me so loud whenever i stood on the chair to cheer during the final raid.
it was soon jj night, there was a slight panick when we were revising our family dance.
and i was real nervous when the time was nearing for us to go on stage.
but everybody was rooting for everyone else and i guess we all became damn high on stage and after that.
jj night was tremendously fun as usual. :D
and i got some good news during the slow dance. hee
F2 spent the whole night doing our campers' gift.
and though i only slept for around 20 minutes, strangely i felt jovial in the morning.
& they were happily singing the single shorties song. :D
eweb for my og was a little screwed up in my opinion because i seriously have no idea how to start the mood.
but some of them really said the most touching words and i almost cried.
& i was just purely happy whenever i see them have fun.
thankyou, OG19 for being a supportive and a lovable bunch!
i learned a whole load in orientation 09, the numerous hours put in.
it is true that you lead by example, and it is even more true that when you want the campers to be high, you have to be more high than anybody else.
it is indeed contagious.
there was so many nostalgic moments in this camp which reminded me of my orientation and my ogls.
the past year in jj was a really eventful and fruitful one and for every single camp that i participated in, i dare say i never regret the decision.
each created a precious memory and changed one way or another of my thinking.
and not to forget, the camps helped me found lots of lovable people. :D
but for now, i guess i will have to find a way to settle down and start my mugging life.
goodbye camps, hello books.
